Dem Forschungsvorhaben folgend, eine überlebensgroße und besteigbare Installation rein aus Pappmaché zu bauen, erarbeitete ich in den vergangenen zweieinhalb Jahren sukzessive die stabilste Bauweise. Indem ich die große Installation in zwei Grundformen – Leitern und Hocker – aufteilte, war es mir möglich, die Materialforschungsprozesse so genau wie möglich zu halten.
Die jeweilige Bauweise einer Generation von Testobjekten unterzog ich einem Belastungstest, indem ich die Objekte mittels meines Körpergewichts und dessen Bewegung belastete.
// Following the material research project to build a larger-than-life and climbable installation made entirely of papier-mâché, over the past two and a half years I have gradually developed the most stable construction method. By dividing the large installation into two basic forms – ladders and stools – I was able to keep the materials research processes as accurate as possible.
I subjected the respective construction of a generation of test objects to a stress test by loading the objects with my body weight and its movement.
